Howdy Folks! Many of you might remember that from 1988 until 2013, I ran “Dan’s Piano Roll Auctions” in order to sell many of the rolls of my late Uncle, Si Riman. Beginning in 1992, I added and sold many rolls from the collection of the late John Gourley. Some might remember him, along with Larry Givens as being the producers of the “Green Box” Melodee rolls in the 1960’s. Some of the rolls in these boxes are marked “master made”. These were some of the rolls that were used to make those Melodee rolls.
I have just finished cataloguing all the rolls I still have. There are about 3,500 rolls including some various Reproducing and Medley rolls. A little less than half no longer have their original boxes. I have put all the rolls in numbered lots. Every roll was checked from beginning to end on a hand roller. I eliminated any rolls too damaged or brittle to be played, unless very rare.
I am offering each box (approximately 40 rolls per box, 70 for rolls without boxes) as lots, and will entertain any reasonable offer per box. I don’t have the time (or energy) to hunt for individual rolls. I would also consider an offer for the entire collection.
